Eid ul Fitr is one of the most important holidays for the Muslim Ummah or group of people. It means “breaking fast” in Arabic when the Eid ul Fitr holiday comes around. The government of Pakistan makes Eid ul Fitr a three-day public holiday. It is a day off from school, college, and a few businesses for schools and some businesses. Muslim people live in countries where they are not the majority. They pray and go about their daily lives. Eid is usually celebrated during the weekend by Muslims living in minority groups. The Muslim community puts together a party and celebrates the event. The sweet dish is essential for the event, called “Meethi Eid” in Urdu.
